Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the ShopFromUK platform operated by UKDirect Ltd. By creating an account or placing an order, you agree to these Terms. Please read them carefully.

1. About ShopFromUK

ShopFromUK is a personal shopping and forwarding service. We purchase products from UK retailers on your behalf and ship them to your address in Nigeria. We are not a retailer in the traditional sense — we act as your purchasing agent in the United Kingdom.

We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting as an agent of any UK retailer listed on our platform (Primark, H&M, Next, River Island, CEX, Currys, Argos, Marks & Spencer, Holland & Barrett, Clarks, Boots, or others). Product descriptions, images, and prices are informational and may change.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and have the legal capacity to enter a binding contract under Nigerian law to use this service. By using ShopFromUK, you represent that you meet these requirements.

3. Accounts

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password and for all activity under your account.
You must provide accurate and complete registration information.
You must verify your email address within 7 days of registration. Unverified accounts are automatically deleted after 7 days.
You must not share your account or allow others to use it.
Notify us immediately at support@shopfromuk.com if you suspect unauthorised access to your account.

4. Orders and payment

Placing an order: When you submit an order, you are authorising ShopFromUK to purchase the specified products from UK retailers on your behalf at the displayed price.

Pricing: All prices are displayed in Nigerian Naira (₦) and include our service fee. The exchange rate used is the rate displayed on the site at the time of purchase. Prices are subject to change without notice, but once your order is confirmed and paid, the price is locked.

Service fee: A service fee is included in the displayed price to cover sourcing, quality checking, packaging, and logistics coordination. The fee is non-refundable once sourcing has commenced.

Payment: Payments are processed in NGN via Paystack. Your payment is held until your order is confirmed. If we are unable to source a product, you will receive a full refund.

Order confirmation: An order is confirmed only after payment is successfully received and verified. A confirmation email will be sent to you.

5. Sourcing and availability

Product availability is not guaranteed. UK retail stock can change rapidly. If a product becomes unavailable after your order is placed and paid, we will contact you to offer a substitute or a full refund. We are not liable for any loss arising from product unavailability.

Products listed as in stock on ShopFromUK reflect our best knowledge at the time but may not reflect real-time UK retailer inventory.

6. Shipping and delivery

Estimated delivery time: 7–21 business days from order confirmation, depending on availability and customs clearance. Estimates are not guaranteed delivery dates.
Shipping cost: Calculated at checkout based on weight and destination.
Customs and import duties: We handle customs clearance as part of our service. Any import duties assessed by Nigerian Customs are included in your order total or, where assessed post-shipment, will be communicated to you before release of your package.
Risk of loss: Risk of loss or damage passes to you upon delivery to your specified address.
Delivery address: You are responsible for providing an accurate delivery address. We are not responsible for packages that cannot be delivered due to an incorrect address provided by you.

7. Returns and refunds

Wrong or damaged items: If you receive the wrong item or an item damaged in transit, contact us at support@shopfromuk.com within 7 days of delivery with photographs. We will investigate and offer a replacement, store credit, or refund at our discretion.

Change of mind: We do not accept returns for change of mind once a product has been sourced from a UK retailer, as it has already been purchased on your behalf.

Order cancellation: You may cancel an order for a full refund before sourcing begins (i.e., while the order is in "Paid" status). Once sourcing has commenced, cancellations may incur a fee equal to the cost of the purchased items.

Refund processing: Approved refunds are returned to your original payment method within 5–10 business days.

8. Prohibited use

You must not use ShopFromUK to order:

Weapons, firearms, or ammunition
Controlled substances or prescription medications
Items prohibited for import into Nigeria by law
Counterfeit or infringing goods
Any item for the purpose of resale or commercial import without the required licences

We reserve the right to cancel any order we believe violates these restrictions, with a full refund.

9. Intellectual property

All content on ShopFromUK — including text, design, logos, and code — is owned by or licensed to UKDirect Ltd. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our written permission. Product images remain the property of their respective UK retailers.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Nigerian law, UKDirect Ltd shall not be liable for:

Indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from your use of the service
Delays or failures caused by third parties (UK retailers, couriers, customs authorities, Paystack)
Fluctuations in the GBP/NGN exchange rate between order placement and fulfilment
Loss arising from your failure to provide an accurate delivery address

Our total liability to you for any claim arising from an order shall not exceed the amount you paid for that order.

11. Dispute resolution

We encourage you to contact us first at support@shopfromuk.com to resolve any dispute informally. We will respond within 5 business days. If a dispute cannot be resolved informally, it shall be referred to arbitration under the Arbitration and Conciliation Act (Nigeria), and the courts of Nigeria shall have exclusive jurisdiction.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Nothing in these Terms affects any statutory rights you have as a consumer under Nigerian law.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify registered users by email of material changes. Continued use of the service after the effective date of changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
